"Locks can be a bit hit or miss"
I use Social Bicycles here and there, and overall it does the job fine. The only thing that gets me is the lock. In my head, I kind of expect it to be a quick “park it, lock it, done” situation, but a few times it didn’t catch right away and I ended up standing there fiddling with it longer than I wanted.
When the lock works, the whole thing feels easy and convenient. I just wish it was more consistent, because when I’m in a rush, my brain is already on autopilot and I don’t want to stop and troubleshoot a bike lock

Pretty solid overall. At least around my area, there’s usually a hub open nearby, so I’d say it’s generally convenient. The only time I’ve had to walk a little farther was on a weekend, but even then it still worked out fine

"Support took forever to get back to me"
The bike itself was fine, no major complaints there. But the customer support was slow. I reached out about a billing issue and it took days to get a real response, which is annoying when it’s about money, of course. When they finally replied, it was a short answer and didn’t really solve the problem. Not a total disaster, but definitely frustrating

"Brakes could be better"
The brakes felt a little weak to me, like they worked, but I was expecting a bit more bite when slowing down. Not terrible, just... could be better

"Better maintained than I expected"
I’ve used Social Bicycles quite a few times now, the bikes have been in better shape than I usually expect from rentals. They’re generally clean, the brakes feel solid, the seats adjust without a hassle, and I haven’t run into any annoying chain issues like I have with other bike-share options.
I went in assuming there might be a few beat-up bikes here and there, but it really feels like they’re checked and maintained regularly. That makes the whole ride feel a lot easier and less stressful, which I definitely appreciate

"It works, but it’s a little clunky"
Well... I did end up finding what I needed, so that’s a plus. The site just feels a bit slow at times, and the menus are kind of confusing to click through.

"Comfortable ride and easy to use"
I’ve used Social Bicycles a few times around town, and overall it’s been a comfortable ride. The seat was better than I expected and didn’t feel too hard, and the handlebars were fine for short trips.
The whole process was really easy too, from finding a bike to getting started, which made it nice for quick errands. The only thing I noticed is that the bike feels a little heavy when you first take off, especially on small hills.
It wasn’t a huge issue, just something I felt after riding for a bit. I’d still give it 4 stars for comfort and convenience, especially for casual rides around town.

"Got charged wrong twice"
Uh, my bill was messed up not once but twice, and support never really fixed it. Frustrating experience, so I’m not planning to use them again.

The bike was right there, so I don’t feel like I was doing anything wrong, but the app just kept failing when I tried to unlock it. I ended up standing around for like 15 minutes messing with it, which was frustrating. I get that apps glitch sometimes, but it was annoying when I just needed to get going

"Refund came through eventually"
I did get my refund in the end, so that was fine, but it took longer than I expected. I had to follow up a couple of times before it was sorted, which was a bit annoying since I wasn’t really sure what was holding it up.

I could see the costs upfront, which I appreciated. No strange surprise charges showed up for me, so that was nice, though that should just be the standard.

I’ve never had any problems with it. The bikes are usually ready to go when I need one, well, I guess not always perfect, but most of the time it’s been really dependable.

"Bikes could be cleaner"
I’ve used Social Bicycles a few times, and overall it gets the job done. The only thing is, they’re not always as clean as I’d like. One bike had sticky handlebars, and another had mud on the seat, which was annoying. I still got where I needed to go, so it wasn’t a bad experience exactly, but I wish they checked it more often. I’d give it 3 stars

"GPS is usually right where I need it"
I’ve used Social Bicycles a handful of times now, and the GPS has been solid. Most of the time it shows the bikes right where they actually are, so I’m not wandering around like I have with some other apps. The map seems to update quick enough, and the drop-off spots are simple to find too. I mean, it’s not perfect every single time, but nothing really is, and if it’s close enough to save me time then that basically counts as accurate to me. Easy 5 stars.

I’ve been using this for short rides across town, and it’s super convenient. Most of the time there’s a bike close by, which makes it easy when I don’t want to deal with driving or parking. The app can be a little slow sometimes, which is kind of annoying, but overall it’s been really useful. Seems like a solid option for quick trips, don’t you think?

"Payment worked fine, just a little slow"
I used Social Bicycles and the payment process was okay. My card went through, and I got the receipt in my email, so everything worked like it should. It just took a bit longer than I expected to confirm, so I ended up checking it twice. Overall, it was simple enough and I’d use it again.

"Setup was okay, just a little slow"
so... signing up wasn’t too bad, but it did take a bit longer than I thought it would. A few of the steps weren’t super clear, so I had to figure things out as I went. I got it working in the end, but the setup could definitely be smoother.

I do like that there are bikes around the places I actually go, not just downtown, so that part is really convenient. It makes quick trips way easier when I don't feel like walking. My main complaint is just that some stations can be annoying to deal with, and that same issue comes up again and again. Still, when it works, it’s a big help.
